Neighbors Care Alliance

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Throughout Pima County, neighbors reach out to help each other every day. It's natural to give a ride, make a friendly phone call, stop for a visit, or cook a hot meal for someone we know. As many as 21 programs have been part of PCOA's Neighbors Care Alliance throughout the years. Just last year, Neighbors Care volunteers provided nearly 6000 round trip rides to seniors and "ran" close to 40,000 errands. Programs require that seniors register in advance and request 2-5 days notice.

The NEIGHBORS CARE ALLIANCE (NCA) helps neighborhoods and faith communities create or strengthen volunteer caregiver programs whose goal is to help elders remain safely and independently in their homes.  PCOA's Neighbors Care Outreach Coordinators are available for free to help you determine the needs in your community, what kinds of services would be useful, and to recruit, train and support volunteers. For additional information please contact an NCA Outreach Coordinator at 520-790-0504.
