These Programs provide stimulating, supportive environments for adults needing assistance with some activities of daily living. They also provide respite for caregivers. Call PCOA for other respite options.

 ALTCS Guide

ALTCS Simplified Guide

The Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) is Arizona’s version of Medicaid Long Term Care. Individuals must be both medically and financially eligible to qualify. PCOA offers a no-cost class on ALTCS the second Thursday of each month. Call us for more information or to sign up: (520) 790-7262.

Durable Medical Equipment 

A few agencies in Tucson provide free or low-cost walkers, wheelchairs, grab bars, and other medical equipment to individuals in need. These agencies rely on donations, so items are subject to availability.

 Emergency Alert Systems

Emergency Response Systems

Emergency Response devices can bring peace of mind to individuals who are prone to falls and their families by alerting a dispatcher or caregiver when a fall happens. Some companies offer medication reminders in addition to fall senors. GPS tracking capability is available with some models so they can be used anywhere.
