The mission of ARC Elder Services is to empower self-determination and self-sufficiency among older people (50+) and legally competent adults living with disabilities. We accomplish this mission by providing state of the art advocacy and placement services, including late-life domestic violence education, lay legal advocacy, peer and paraprofessional support and options counseling, housing and financial counseling, and financial assistance for existing clients who qualify for rental/utility assistance, down payment assistance on a new home, mortgage assistance, reverse mortgage, foreclosure prevention, and post mortgage modification counseling. Transportation is available for crime victims for the purposes of providing them access to safety and crime related services.

Most services are free. There is a charge for credit reports, when exploring home buyer options, and there is a charge for reverse mortgage counseling.

Arivaca Coordinating Council/ Human Resource Group (often shortened to Arivaca Human Resource) provides the town of Arivaca with many services such as daily nutritious meals for qualifying individuals, emergency food packages, twice a month transportation services, and access to energy assistance. Meals are served on-site at our office, or by home delivery. Pre-registration is required. Arivaca Human Resource also provides referral services for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Funds can be used to pay for current or past month’s electric or gas bill, as well as late fees and reconnects fees. Water payment assistance is available between May and October. You may only receive help through this agency once per year for financial support. To receive assistance, call for an appointment.
